Effects of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

The earthquake and tsunami in Northern Japan have had crippling effects on the flower market there.  All Northern flower markets are closed and the airports are not accepting flower shipments.  They also have no ability to store flowers due to the focus on receiving and storing aid there now.  This has caused a surplus of flowers from growers in the South.   There is a lot of extra product available from the South, including gloriosa, sweet peas, and ranunculus.  We are able to get product out of Southern Japan and will be receiving a nice size shipment tomorrow.  We would like to you to please consider buying Japanese product at this time to help stabilize their market.  For any information on product and pricing please contact lauren@gpage.com.
